Born in the USA in 1950, Jenny Holzer lives and works in New York. She uses text in her works as subversive material that she broadcasts on various media like stone, paper and electronics. Jenny Holzer has won several awards during her career and has designed numerous permanent installations that are part of famous institutional collections. She also was the first woman to receive the Golden Lion at the Venice Biennale, when she represented the USA in 1990.
CIAC exhibited the work of Jenny Holzer at the 1987 edition of Cent jours d'art contemporain de Montréal, in the exhibition Stations, curated by Claude Gosselin.
