Jerry PETHICK



Jerry Pethick was born in London, Ontario. In 1957 he left Canada for the UK where he spent three years studying at the Chelsea College of Art in London. Having worked and traveled in Europe for one year, he returned to London where he became an associate of the Royal College of Art. In 1968, he moved to the United States to study holography then returned to Canada in 1975. He passed away in July 2003.

Sculptor and multimedia artist, Jerry Pethick has mostly focused on holography and on optic phenomena, seeking to explore virtual spaces and their potential use.

His works have been widely distributed in Europe, the USA and Canada, more particularly at the National Gallery of Canada, and are currently presented by the Catriona Jeffries Gallery in Vancouver.
