CIAC-MTL congratulates Dominique Blain who received the Prix Paul-Émile-Borduas 2014, the most prestigious annual distinction presented by the government of Québec in the field of visual arts ! Dominique Blain exhibited her works at the Cent jours d’art contemporain de Montréal (CIAC) in 1989, 1990 and 1992. Journalist Jérôme Delgado wrote in the Saturday-Sunday edition of Le Devoir, last October 18th and 19th that the next BNL MTL would be its seventh while in fact, it will be its eighth (BNL MTL 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2014). Once again Mr. Delgado was mistaken. Recently, (refer to July Newsletter), he announced that artist Barthélémy Toguo was exhibiting his work for the first time in Canada at the Biennale internationale de sculpture de Trois-Rivières 2014. In fact, Toguo participated in the BNL MTL 2002. Let this be a warning to historians who rely on the writings of Mr. Delgado. We are aware that his judgement is biased whenever he writes about the CIAC - Centre
